Someone asked us:
If my partner and I are completely healthy and have sex while I’m menstruating without a condom, is there any way he can get an infection from the blood?
If you definitely have no infections (which you can only know if you’ve been tested), there’s no risk of your boyfriend getting an infection from you, whether you have your period or not. If you have certain infections like HIV, it can be in menstrual fluid (blood) and could pass to someone else during sex. But your period alone can’t cause an infection.
