Can I go to Planned Parenthood if I have insurance?

Someone asked us:
Can I go to Planned Parenthood if I have insurance? I used to go there for my annuals when I was paying out of pocket and needed the sliding scale. Now I don’t need it but I still want to go. Will that be taking away services from people who need it more than me?
The answer to your first question is YES, totally. Most Planned Parenthood health centers take insurance. To find out if your insurance plan covers services at Planned Parenthood, call your nearest health center or your insurance company.
And you don’t need to worry AT ALL about taking away care from other people. If you use insurance or pay out of pocket, that means money is still available to help others who don’t have insurance or funds to get the health care they need. Plus, you can always make a donation after your appointment! It’s a win win.
Today is the first ever National #PinkOut Day for Planned Parenthood. We’re turning the internet pink to demonstrate just how many of us across the country need Planned Parenthood and are willing to fight for it. So it’s the perfect time to make an appointment.
