What is the most effective birth control? (Besides abstinence)
Asked by Anonymous
The most effective birth control methods are sterilization (though this is permanent), and IUDs and implants. The chances of getting pregnant with these methods is less than 1%, and they’re also super convenient because you don’t have to do anything to make them work, once they’re placed. Next most effective is the Depo shot, followed by the ring, patch, and pill. But at the end of the day, the best method is the one that works for you and your life. Keep in mind that none of these methods protect against STDs, so you should still use condoms and other barriers.
