When it comes to hormonal methods (like the pill, patch or ring), it’s normal for your periods to be lighter. Some pills are designed to stop your period or have fewer periods. With Depo and the implant some people have no periods while others have occasional bleeding. Finally, with the hormonal IUD (like Mirena or Liletta), a majority of people using it have no bleeding which is a nice perk that many people are seeking or look for. If you’re not on a hormonal method, it may be an indication of a problem. If that’s the case, check in with your provider.
