47 years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade, affirmed the right to safe and legal abortion. Now we’re standing strong to protect that right. Abortion is still legal in all 50 states. But every day we see new attacks, pushing access farther out of reach.

For many people, even with Roe v. Wade, the promise of reproductive freedom has never been realized. Reproductive freedom is tied to how much money you make, how much discrimination you face, and how many obstacles get in the way of your most basic human rights. Because of these barriers, abortion has always been out of reach for many people of color, people with low-incomes, and LGBTQ people.

The fight to protect and expand abortion access is far from over. As the battle for our rights continues, we call for agency, for compassion, for protection. We demand an end to stigma, an end to silence, and an end to shame.

This week, as we commemorate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the right to access abortion has never been more uncertain. Our new short film with We Testify, “Ours To Tell,” shows us the world we could have — one where all people are able to access the health care they want, need, and deserve — with compassion and support. That’s the future we’re fighting for.

Watch the film, share it with others, and tell your story.
