Can I get an STD from kissing someone?
There’s mistletoe around and New Year’s Eve is here, which means it’s prime kissing season. Smooches all around! So before the ball drops, let’s drop some knowledge on kissing and STDs.
Basically, kissing is pretty low risk. It’s possible to transmit herpes (or very rarely syphilis) by kissing, but that’s less likely if there aren’t any sores present. Unless you’re doing some serious saliva-swapping and one of you has sores present or is bleeding from the mouth, you’re good to go ahead and enjoy that midnight kiss!
